Cape Symphony is thrilled to announce its 24/25 concert season, which is not just a showcase of extraordinary talent and beautiful music, but also part of the selection process for the Cape Symphony Orchestra’s next Music Director.

Cape Symphony is thrilled to announce its 24/25 concert season, which is not just a showcase of extraordinary talent and beautiful music, but also part of the selection process for the Cape Symphony Orchestra’s next Music Director.

Seven distinguished guest conductors will take the podium. Jean-Claude Picard, Troy Quinn, Alyssa Wang, Darko Butorac, Dina Gilbert, Kevin Fitzgerald, and James Blachly will each present a program designed to engage and inspire, from classic masterpieces to contemporary works and popular music tributes.

Cape Symphony’s 24/25 concert season is as follows:

  • September 21 & 22, 2024: Jean-Claude Picard opens the season with a vibrant program featuring pieces by John Adams, Gabriella Lena Frank, and Richard Strauss, culminating with Modest Mussorgsky’s iconic "Pictures at an Exhibition."
  • October 19 & 20, 2024: Troy Quinn will lead a soul-stirring CapePOPS! tribute to The Music of Motown.
  • November 16 & 17, 2024: Alyssa Wang presents Fantastique, a dynamic program of works by Jessica Meyer and Edvard Grieg, and Hector Berlioz’s monumental "Symphonie Fantastique."
  • December 6, 7 & 8, 2024: Cape Symphony Orchestra’s Assistant Conductor Joe Marchio, The Chatham Chorale, and the Cape Symphony Dance Company bring the holidays to life at our annual Holiday On The Cape extravaganza.
  • January 25 & 26, 2025: Darko Butorac highlights the wonders of Italy and the talents of the Cape Symphony Orchestra in Passport to Rome, with music by Gioachino Rossini, Antonio Vivaldi, and Ottorino Respighi.
  • February 22 & 23, 2025: Cape Symphony Orchestra’s Assistant Conductor Joe Marchio and Concertmaster Jae Cosmos Lee conduct and co-host “And The Winner Is…”,  a CapePOPS! celebration of Oscar®-winning classics.
  • April 5 & 6, 2025: Dina Gilbert takes the stage for Beethoven: The Revolutionary. This all-Beethoven program culminates with his epic Symphony No. 5.
  • May 17 & 18, 2025: Kevin Fitzgerald conducts “Sing Us A Song,” a CapePOPS! concert dedicated to the great hits of the one and only Billy Joel.
  • June 14 & 15, 2025: James Blachly concludes our guest conductor series with To The Sea, a powerful ocean-themed program featuring music by Maurice Ravel, Toru Takemitsu, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

All performances will take place at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, 744 West Main Street, Hyannis.
